Details

On arrival at Entebbe Airport, our Company representative will be there to welcome you. He will then transfer you to your hotel for the night. Have Dinner and Recover from your flight as you await your 10 days worth of adventure.
After breakfast, your driver/guide will pick you up from the hotel.First, he will brief you on how your 10 days Uganda Birding tour will go and what to expect.Thereafter, begin your adventure with a visit to Mabamba Bay Wetland. Located on the shores of Lake Victoria, Mabamba is one of Uganda’s most visited birding spots. The important Birding area is a habitat for the rare and most sought after shoebill stork, But is also a home to more than 259 other bird species. Driving from Entebbe, we will arrive at the wetland and take a canoe ride in search of several bird species. Enjoy close views of special birds such as the African Pygmy Goose, Blue Swallow, Greater and Lesser Jacana, Papyrus Gonolek, White –Winged Warbler, Swamp Flycatcher, allied Harrier, Black-Headed Weaver, Northern Brown –Throated Weaver, Gull-Bellied Tern, Shoe Bill Stork among others. And if you are lucky, you will get to spot the Bay’s swamp – dwelling Sitatunga antelope. From Mabamba.Drive straight to Lake Mburo National Park located in Western Uganda. You will have a brief stopover at the Equator monument en route for photography and proceed. On arrival in the park, drive to your lodge and check in. Dinner and Overnight.
You will also have an opportunity to see the diverse fauna of the park. These include, among many others, Topis, Elephants, Buffaloes, Warthogs and Impalas.On a boat tour on Lake Mburo in the late afternoon, You can see the African Finfoot, African Fish Eagle, Giant Kingfisher, Little Bittern, Open Billed Stork, Squacco Heron, Green Backed Heronetc. After that, go back to your resort and rest.
After your Breakfast, proceed with your birding tour to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is the second largest national park in Uganda located in Western Uganda in the Kasese District. It is a home to over 95 mammal species and more than 610 recorded bird species .You will arrive in the park in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch, head for bird watching on the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is a major birding spot with a multitude of water birds. The Great White Pelican, Temmick’s Courser, African Spoonbill, Saddle-soiled stork, African Fish Eagle, African Shoebill, Common Godwit and Water Thick-knee are some of the bird species you might expect to encounter.
After Breakfast, Take on your final birding excursion in Queen Elizabeth to Maramagambo Forest. The forest is located in the Southern part of the park and thrives with an array of forest birds. Expect to encounter bird species such as Marsha Tchagra,Brown Illadopsis,Black Headed Batis,Honeyguide Greenbul,Green Brombec,Black Cuckoo, African Broadbill, White – Tailed Lark, Papyrus Canary And Black Bee-eater etc while birding in Maramagambo, you will also encounter a range of primates including chimpanzees, monkeys and olive baboons. From There, take a 4 hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park for another birding excursion. Take in the views of the crater lakes region as you go along, with the Ruwenzori Mountain Ranges serving as your backdrop. On arrival, you will be transferred to your lodge. Dinner and Over Night
After Breakfast, visit Kibale Forest to observe birds. One of the most popular national parks in Uganda is Kibale Forest.The Naturalist’s paradise is home to 13 different primate’s species including the largest chimpanzee population in East Africa. The Park is home to more than 375 different bird species .It is therefore a well known location for bird observation and chimpanzee trekking. The Bigodi wetland, home to more than 170 bird species is connected to the park. Aside from other birds like the white- napped pigeon, Masked Apalis,Cabanis Greenbul,Blue Headed Bee Eater,Black – Eared Ground Thrush, Chubb’s Cisticola,African Dusky Flycatcher, Black – billed Turaco,and Barn Swallow, Keep an eye out for the endangered Green Breasted Pitta during the excursion.Return to your lodge and eat lunch. Later, go to Bigodi Wetland for additional exhilarating bird sightings. Spend some time admiring the wetland’s plant species, Sitatunga antelopes and butterflies. The Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus Gonolek, Pied Kingfisher, African Pitta, Yellow ramped Tinker bird and other birds can be found in Bigodi.
Wake up to an early breakfast and then transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through the exciting views of the Albertine Rift Valley. It will take you about 6 hours to get to Murchison Falls National Park and on arrival; you will have lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, drive to visit the top of Murchison Falls. The Falls are located on the Victoria Arm of the Nile River at the point where the Nile gushes through a narrow a gorge and falls 45meters deep. It’s thunderous roar and transcending turbulence makes it the world’s mightiest waterfalls. Enjoy the experience at the falls with photography and then return to your lodge .Dinner and Overnight
After morning breakfast, set off into the Northern Savannah of the park in search of wildlife. Murchison Falls National Park is largest National Park in Uganda. The Park boasts the highest concentration of wildlife with over 76 mammal species and 450 bird species. This makes it a top birders destination. In the country .The game drive will treat you to encounters with lions, Hyenas, Leopards,Waterbucks,Bushbucks,Elephants,Buffaloes,Oribis,and Jackson Hartebeests among others amidst other bird species. You will spend about 3-4hours on the gamedrive, then return to your lodge and relax. In the afternoon, venture on a birding boat cruise on the Nile. The Nile thrives with a variety of bird species which include Giant Heron, Giant Kingfisher, Grey-crowned crane, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Pied Kingfisher, Shoebill stork, Marabou stork, Nightjars among others. You will also get to see a range of Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and Monitor Lizards
Wake up and Have Breakfast, and then drive to budongo forest, which is the most ecologically diverse forest throughout East Africa. It has over 466 plant species, including a significant number of giant mahoganies that can reach 60 meters in height. It also continues to be home to the highest density of chimpanzees and is a haven for birdwatchers with over 366 different bird species. The Royal mile is the ideal location for excellent birding and offers the best opportunities for seeing local bird life. Expect to see several different bird species, including the Cameroon Sombre,Red Tailed Bristle Bill, Slender – Billed Honey Guide, Yellow Crested Woodpecker, Speckled Tinkerbird,Yellow-browed camaroptera,Buff-throated Apalis,White Breasted and Grey Headed Negrofinches,Crested Guinea Fowl, Tambourine Dove, African Emerald etc. Return to Your Lodge and Rest.
After Breakfast, embark on your return journey to Kampala with en-route lunch in Masindi Town and this Marks the end of our 10 Days Uganda Birding Tour.
