You wake up early, excited to start the hike of the Ruwenzori Mountains. The driver/guide will transfer you to Nyakalengija (1646metres) to receive briefing and start your climb into the Ruwenzori Mountain Ranges. You will be met by the locals who will hike with you, help carry some of your luggage uphill. Having grown up in this area, they find it generally easier to hike up and down the mountain. The Hike will mostly be along River Mubuku through the thick vegetation arriving at the Nyabitaba hut(2651 meters) where you will spend an overnight .This is a beautiful scenery for you to take in as you continue hiking along this trail. You will soon arrive to the Nyabitaba Hut for your overnight. Accommodation: Nyabitaba Hut.

After the Nyabitaba Hut, you’re getting accustomed to the climatic conditions .Have an early breakfast and hike through a bridge across River Mubuku.The plan is to overnight at John Matte Hut, so hike past Nyamuleju hut, enjoying the views of Mountain Stanley and Speke depending on the Weather. You will climb through some open patches ,lobelia and heath moss forest to the John Matte hut (3505 metres) for overnight John Matte Hut

Your best sights today will be Lake Bujuku (3962 meters) and ’cooking pot ‘a rock shelter. Start the hike early morning through the giant lobelia before you finally arrive at Bujuku hut for overnight. Accommodation: Bujuku Hut

Today the plan is to ascend Mount Victoria and Mount Speke from the valley with scenic alpine vegetation consisting giant groundsels and Lobeli.You will hike through the glaciers to arrive at Elena Hut (4541 meters) for overnight rest Accommodation: Elena Hut

The highest peak of the Ruwenzori mountain is Margherita.The hike to the peak is gruesome ,It is known to be more difficult to hike compared to Mountain Kilimajaro.You will wake up at about 1am to start the hike because you must descend back to Lake Kitandara hut on the same day. You will start with a hike to Alexander Peak (5092 meters) and continue on to the highest peak at 5109 metres, the famous Margherita peak. Enjoy the picture session at the highest peak before you start your descend to the Lake Kitandara for overnight stay at Kitandara Hut (4020 meters) Accommodation: Kitandara Hut

After an early breakfast you start a long descent to Guy Yeoman Hut (3505 meters).We will have a picnic lunch on the way and continue descending with views of DR Congo. Accommodation: GUY YEOMAN HUT.

The last part of the hike drops steeply along the Mubuku River and joins the original route near the Bujuku River to Nyabitaba hut (2651 meters).Enjoy the last of the mountain before exiting the next day. Accommodation: Nyabitaba Hut.

After breakfast, start the last descent to Nyakalengija where you started the journey .You will find the driver guide waiting for you after which you will proceed to your hotel in Kasese. MEAL PLAN: FULL BOARD ACCOMODATION: Sandton Hotel
